By accessing or using frac.fyi, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws in the Province of Alberta, Canada.

2. Source of Data (AER Disclosure)

frac.fyi is an independent analytics platform. All raw regulatory and production data is sourced from public records provided by the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and Petrinex.

  • No Affiliation: frac.fyi is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official representative of the AER or the Government of Alberta.
  • Data Accuracy: We provide this data "as-is." While we strive for precision, we do not guarantee the completeness or timeliness of the information, which may be subject to retroactive revisions by the AER.

3. No Professional Advice

The analytics, calculations (including C* and royalty estimates), and AI-driven insights provided by the Service are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute engineering, geological, financial, or legal advice. Users must verify all information against official regulatory filings before making operational decisions.

4. AI and Automated Insights

The Service utilizes automated algorithms and large language models to process data. You acknowledge that AI-generated summaries may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. frac.fyi is not responsible for any decisions made based on automated insights.

5. User Conduct

Unauthorized automated harvesting (scraping) of the processed intelligence or visualizations from frac.fyi is strictly prohibited. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication credentials.

6. Intellectual Property

While the raw data is public, the custom analytical models, proprietary visualizations, and code constituting the frac.fyi platform are the intellectual property of its creators.

7. Limitation of Liability

frac.fyi and its creators shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages, including loss of profit or business interruption, resulting from the use of this service.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
